Kids’ Cartoon Logo for Knysna

Love Knysna Projects Posted on March 13, 2013 by Love Knysna ProjectsOctober 28, 2015

These kids’ cartoon characters for Knysna are awesome! Our goal is to develop Knysna and make locals, especially kids, aware and proud of our tourist town. We also want it to be fun! Our founder, Mike Hampton, has long wanted Knysna’s rare and beautiful creatures to become emblems and mascots of our town. We’re talking about the Knysna Elephant, Seahorse, Loerie Bird and Brenton Blue Butterfly. Thanks to sponsorship and talent from graphic designer, Monique Giannikos, we can now give you the first introduction to Sally the Elephant, Sam the … Read the full article…

Rasta and Hornlee Kids Trip to Knysna Elephant Park

Love Knysna Projects Posted on February 13, 2013 by Love Knysna ProjectsFebruary 13, 2013

At the end of last month, the Knysna Elephant Park (KEP) sponsored Love Knysna Projects to take a busload of disadvantaged, primary school kids for a trip to experience their wonderful elephants. With the exception of 3 kids from Hornlee and 1 from town central, the kids were from Judah Square, the Rastafari ‘village’ in the Knysna suburb, Khayalethu South. Their excitement was as amazing to me as the elephants were to them. Even before the bus had stopped, they were screaming with anticipation. In the bus, the air hummed … Read the full article…

Love Knysna Projects Logo

Tonya Laure-Smith was also the creator of the Love Knysna Projects logo. She tolerated my pesky opinions and alteration requests. We debated until we were “blue in the face” 🙂 It was worth it. We were both very happy with the result! The loerie bird (Knysna Turaco) is continued from the Love Knysna logo. Local photographer, Jan Fourie, was kind of enough to extend permission to use it here. Lovely, hey? … Read the full article…
